Recreation Ground

Meadows Footpath

Olney Town Council ground staff work on a continuous programme throughout the year to maintain the open spaces in Olney.

For  landscaping issues from 1st April 2014 in Olney
email: landscape@olneytowncouncil.gov.uk

They work especially hard to keep our sports pitches up to a high standard for all the teams.

The recreation areas maintained by the Council include:

  • The main Recreation fields (left)
  • Johnsons Field
  • The Pyghtle
  • The Barnfield
  • Olney Meadows (The Goosey )

The Recreation Ground in East Street is a popular place for leisure time.

The 'Rec' as it is commonly known has a children's play area and access to the river.

It is also the main centre for outdoor sports, including tennis, bowls, cricket, rugby and football

Please click here for contact details of these.

With the help of local sponsorship Olney Town Council is able to continue to keep the town’s roundabouts, flowerbeds and turrets at the entrances to the town in full colour throughout the year, especially in the summer when the hanging baskets are in full bloom.

Olney is a beautiful Buckinghamshire market town located about 12 miles from Milton Keynes, Northampton and Bedford (see map). Many visitors enjoy Olney's history and culture

Olney Town Council aims to represent the views of local people and to work with Milton Keynes Council (the local authority for the town) for the benefit of those who live and work here.
