The CouncilTown (and Parish) Councils are the first tier of local government and deliver a range of services to meet local needs. Although our powers are relatively limited, it is an important forum for local discussion and accountability. The public are welcome to attend our meetings Olney Town Council is here to help you!Olney Town Council serves a population of just over six thousand people. Our aim is to provide services to the town which you think are important and that make your quality of life better. The Council is committed to providing quality services and has been awarded Quality Council status. The services provided by Olney Town Council are summarised left. Please click for information. Olney Town Council comprises fifteen Councillors who are elected every four years. The Olney Town Council office, based at the Olney Centre, is staffed by the Town Clerk and Deputy Town Clerk.

- A British Subject/citizen of the Irish Republic or a citizen of a member state of the European Union
- A local government elector of the parish.
- He/she must live in the parish or within a 3 mile radius,
- Or during the same period had his/her principal or only place of work in that area.
