Roadworks

July 17, 2019
As you are aware works within the verge are commencing well on site and the work programme is currently much further ahead than it should be so we expect an earlier completion date than original.
Although there will be works commencing in the verge up until 4th October 2019, there will also be some short road closures required. We have limited the road closures within the school holidays as much as we can and to only 1 lane at a time so that there is as little disruption to traffic flow as possible. There is an exception to this however, Lavendon Road will be closed overnight to allow for the resurfacing of the road for approximately 130m. Please see dates below and proposed local diversion attached.
17th July 2019 – 20th July 2019- Wellingborough Road Closure South Bound Lane Only At Roundabout
21st July 2019 – 28th July 2019- Wellingborough Road Closure North Bound Lane Only At Roundabout
22nd July 2019 – 24th July 2019- Lavendon Road Full Closure for 130m NIGHT TIME ONLY for resurfacing
20th August 2019 – 27st - August2019 Warrington Road Closure South Bound Lane Closure At Roundabout
THESE ARE WORSE POSSIBLE DATES AND THE CONTRACTOR IS HOPING TO HAVE THE ROAD OPEN AS SOON AS WORKS ARE COMPLETE.
For the Wellingborough Road closures we have designed the traffic management so that local cars can follow Drift Way, Asperys and Weston Road, however we feel the locals will follow know a shorter route. We have also designed some TM and diversion routes for Heavy Good Vehicles. They will be diverted through Olney via the A428 and then the A422 to help mitigate the amount of traffic on the road. I will contact the bus department directly after this email to inform them of an alternative route for the Wellingborough road closure so that the service isn’t disrupted.
